Audrey. Cameron. Miguel. An amazing indie rock trio from McAllen, TX. They’re releasing their debut album next Thursday, April 7, at the Cine El Rey in McAllen. They just released a track off their upcoming album on their Facebook page called Derby. If you’re in the area, definitely check em out.

Eisley is a band out of Tyler, TX. I’ve never been a huge fan of their music until this new album they just put out. I really really enjoy it. It is definitely a much more mature sound than their previous albums. I got to shoot the first two songs of their performance at the Paste Magazine SXSW Party last week. Check out their new album, The Valley. Also, if anybody knows the Dupree sisters…hook a brotha up! Haha.

In case you don’t follow me on Twitter or Facebook and weren’t inundated by my constant updating last week, I was in Austin, TX for South by Southwest. I got to see so many of my favorite artists/bands last week. One of the most memorable performances last week was from The Civil Wars. If you don’t know who The Civil Wars is, go to your closest mirror and look at yourself and then give yourself a nice big slap across the face. Haha. Ok, don’t do that, but definitely check them out. Often times, simplicity is best. And that’s exactly what they do. Great guitar pickings and the occasional piano are the backdrop for the incredible harmonies by Joy Williams and John Paul White. Seriously do yourself a favor and pick up their albums. Actually, there’s a 7 song album from one of their SXSW performances on iTunes.

Anthony & Melissa are two of the raddest people I’ve had the pleasure of photographing lately. They’re seriously some of the coolest, funniest, and laid back people I’ve met. We actually split their engagement shoot into two days because the location we shot at was actually closed when we got there. I had a blast photographing them and can’t wait to shoot their wedding. Enjoy!

Extreme cold weather and south Texas are two things that do not agree with each other. Once it dips below 40 degrees, people down here lose their minds and not in a good way. Roads, schools, and businesses shut down. By noon, all the ice was gone. Sooooo, instead of being cooped up in the house all day, I went out for a drive to practically the middle of nowhere and came across this abandoned church. Abandoned churches/buildings=photography goldmine. Enjoy!
